Ingredients

  • 8 pieces Flour tortillas or corn tortillas, lightly browned or left soft.
  • 1.5 pounds Ground beef
  • 4 tablespoons Taco seasoning
  • 1 cup Arugula or other spring greens or shredded iceberg lettuce.
  • 1 cup Grape tomatoes sliced in half.
  • 0.5 pieces Red onion sliced.
  • 1 pieces Avocado peeled, pitted, and sliced.
  • 1 cup Pepper jack cheese
  • 1 cup Sour cream
  • 1 cup Salsa

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Chef's Knife
  • Peeler
  • Wooden Spoon

Method

  1. Add ground beef to a medium skillet set over medium heat. Sprinkle with taco seasoning, stir to combine well, and cook until the meat is cooked through and browned, about 7 minutes. Remove from heat and drain away any excess drippings.
  2. Assemble tacos by spooning ground beef into each tortilla and then topping with preferred toppings of arugula, tomatoes, onion, avocado, cheese, sour cream, and salsa.

Notes

  • Tip 1: Keep leftover Tacos in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat gently to avoid soggy tortillas.
  • Tip 2: You can freeze the ground beef filling. Store it in a freezer bag for up to three months for a quick meal later.
  • Tip 3: Serve Tacos with a side of Mexican rice or refried beans for a complete meal.
  • Tip 4: Experiment with different proteins like grilled chicken or grilled veggies for a vegetarian option.
  • Tip 5: Add diced jalapeños or hot sauce for an extra kick!
