Ingredients

  • 6 pieces chicken breasts (boneless and skinless)
  • 3 pieces eggs
  • 6 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 to taste salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill (chopped)
  • 1/2 to 1 sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 to taste sweet chili sauce (optional)

Equipment

  • Frying Pan
  • Whisk
  • Chef's Knife
  • Skillet

Method

  1. Wash the chicken and cut the breasts into long strips.
  2. In a medium bowl, add the soy sauce, eggs, yellow mustard, flour, cornstarch, dill, salt and pepper and whisk everything well.
  3. In another bowl, add the sesame seeds.
  4. In a nonstick pan, heat up the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  5. Dip the chicken strips into the batter and then sprinkle or dip the chicken in the sesame seeds. Fry on both sides until the chicken is golden brown.
  6. Make sure the heat is on medium, so that you don’t burn the chicken and to ensure you cook it well.
  7. Repeat with all the chicken.
  8. Serve with sweet chili sauce.

Notes

  • Tip 1: For a spicier kick, mix a bit of sriracha into your sweet chili sauce.
  • Tip 2: Can be served with a side of jasmine rice or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Tip 3: Ensure oil is properly heated before frying to achieve the perfect golden crust.
