  • 1.5 pounds fresh asparagus trimmed
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 0.33 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 0.25 tsp garlic powder or to taste
  • 0.25 tsp paprika

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  2. Place asparagus in a lightly greased 9x13x2-inch baking dish.
  3. Spread mayonnaise over asparagus. Sprinkle parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and paprika over mayonnaise.
  4. Bake, uncovered, for 20 to 25 minutes.

Notes

  • Trim the asparagus: Make sure to trim the woody ends of the asparagus spears. The thick bottom part of the spear is tough and not meant to be eaten.
  • Even size: When possible, choose a bunch of asparagus where the stalks are about the same diameter for even cooking.
  • Variations: Add a drizzle of olive oil over the asparagus, top with panko breadcrumbs tossed with melted butter, or add some lemon slices on top.
