Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cooked chicken shredded
  • 8 ounces cream cheese 1 brick, room temperature
  • ½ cup sour cream room temperature
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 ounce ranch dressing mix 1 packet
  • fresh parsley or dill for garnish
  • crackers
  • chips
  • toasted bread
  • fresh vegetables

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl

Method

  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients. Make sure your cream cheese and sour cream are at room temperature for easier mixing. This will help to achieve a smooth texture without lumps.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream cheese, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, and ranch dressing mix.
  3. Using a spatula or a mixer, mix everything together until well combined. You want a creamy and uniform mixture, so take your time to blend it thoroughly.
  4. Once mixed, taste the dip to see if you’d like to adjust the seasoning. If you love herbs, you can add some extra spices or fresh herbs at this point.
  5. Next, transfer the dip to a serving dish. If you want to garnish it, sprinkle some fresh parsley or dill on top for a pop of color and flavor.
  6. Cover the dip with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour before serving. This allows the flavors to meld together beautifully, enhancing the taste.
  7. When you’re ready to serve, remove the dip from the fridge. If you like it warm, you can microwave it for about 30 seconds to a minute. Just be cautious not to overheat it, as you want it warm, not hot!
  8. Serve the Ranch Chicken Dip alongside crackers, chips, toasted bread, and fresh vegetables. Let your guests dig in and enjoy!
  9. Enjoy every bite and relish the smiles on everyone's faces as they savor this delightful dip!

Notes

  • This recipe makes approximately 3 cups of dip: A serving is ½ cup.
  • Mixing temperatures: Trying to mix ingredients at different temperatures can cause your dip to become lumpy. To prevent lumps in your dip, use room temperature ingredients.
  • Low-fat options: Swap in low-fat cream cheese and plain Greek yogurt (instead of sour cream) to make a lighter dip.
  • Sandwich spread: Spread ranch chicken dip on rolls for ranch chicken sandwiches.
  • Nutrition: Nutritional information does not include optional ingredients for serving.
