Method
- Start by heating water in a small saucepan until it’s steaming but not boiling. This is crucial as boiling water can scorch the tea bags, affecting the flavor.
- Once the water is steaming, remove it from the heat and add the green tea bags. Allow them to steep for about 8 minutes. This steeping time allows the tea to infuse its flavors into the water.
- After 8 minutes, carefully remove the tea bags and add the steeped tea to a large saucepan. This is where the magic happens!
- Now, it’s time to add in the star players: the pomegranate juice, orange juice, and lemon juice. Stir everything together to combine all the flavors.
- Next, add the honey, cinnamon stick, whole cloves, and the slice of fresh ginger. These ingredients will infuse the tea with their aromatic qualities.
- Turn the heat to medium-high and bring the mixture to a low boil. It’s important to stir occasionally to ensure everything is well mixed and the flavors merge beautifully.
- Once it reaches a low boil, reduce the heat to a simmer. Cover the saucepan and allow it to simmer gently for approximately 30 minutes. This time allows all the spices to meld together for a robust flavor.
- After 30 minutes, remove the saucepan from the heat. Carefully discard the cinnamon stick, cloves, and the slice of ginger. You’ll want to leave these out to prevent any overpowering flavors.
- Using a ladle, serve the tea into your favorite cups. The vibrant color and delightful aroma will surely impress your guests.
