Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound chicken wings
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili pepper
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 200C/400F.
  2. Line a baking pan with a baking sheet.
  3. Combine the baking powder, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, chili pepper, and brown sugar in a bowl.
  4. Toss the wings with the spice rub until they’re coated.
  5. Arrange the wings in a baking pan and drizzle with oil.
  6. Bake for 35 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 165F.

Notes

  • Storage: Store the cooled wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Freezing: Let the wings cool completely, place them in a freezer bag, and freeze them for up to 3 months.
  • Reheat: Bake the wings at 350F/175C for 5-6 minutes or until warm. Alternatively, you can air fry them at 375F/190C for 4-5 minutes.
  • Variations: Add more heat by incorporating cayenne pepper or a few dashes of hot sauce into the mix.
  • Toss in a sauce: After baking, toss the wings in a sauce like sugar-free BBQ sauce or hot honey sauce for added flavor.
