Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp garlic and herb seasoning
  • 2 lb raw chicken tenderloins
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp dried minced onion flakes
  • 2.75 cups slow-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup orzo
  • 2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley leaves
  • 0.5 cup grated parmesan cheese

Equipment

  • 12-inch Non-Stick Skillet
  • Chef Knives
  • Cutting Board

Method

  1. Season chicken with garlic and herb seasoning. Cut tenderloins into bite-size pieces.
  2. Heat oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet or Dutch oven. Add chicken and cook until golden brown. Add garlic cloves and onion. Cook for 30 seconds.
  3. Add chicken broth and orzo pasta. Reduce heat and simmer over medium heat for 15 to 18 minutes, until the orzo is tender.
  4. Stir in parsley and parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Tip 1: You can use any uncooked chicken you prefer, including chicken breasts, tenderloins, or thighs.
  • Tip 2: I use McCormick’s Salt-Free Garlic and Herb seasoning for flavor.
  • Tip 3: Feel free to add vegetables like baby spinach, broccoli, or asparagus to enhance the dish.
  • Tip 4: If the orzo is too thick, add a splash of chicken broth for a creamier texture.
  • Tip 5: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
