Ingredients

  • 250 grams Shrimp
  • 250 grams Broccoli
  • 1 tsp Sesame Seeds
  • 1 Green Onion sliced
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce low sodium
  • 1 tbsp Oyster Sauce
  • 1 tsp White Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Agave Syrup
  • 1 tbsp Ginger grated
  • 1 clove Garlic grated
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch

Equipment

  • Frying Pan
  • Chef's Knife
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Grater
  • Wooden Spoon

Method

  1. Start by mixing all the sauce ingredients together. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, white vinegar, agave syrup, ginger, garlic, and a splash of sesame oil. Whisk until well combined. This sauce is the key to bringing your dish to life, so take your time to really blend those flavors!
  2. Next, heat a splash of olive oil in a medium pan over medium-high heat. The oil should shimmer when it’s hot enough. Be careful not to overheat it. You want a nice sear on your shrimp, not to burn the oil.
  3. Add the frozen shrimp directly to the hot pan. Cook them for about 2 to 3 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque. You’ll know they’re done when they curl slightly and appear firm. Make sure to stir occasionally for even cooking.
  4. Once the shrimp is cooked, add the broccoli to the pan. Keep stirring continuously to ensure each piece gets coated with the oil and begins to soften. This step usually takes about 3 to 4 minutes, and you want the broccoli to be bright green and tender but still crisp.
  5. Now it’s time to pour that delicious sauce over the shrimp and broccoli. Make sure to coat everything evenly, so every bite is full of flavor. Let it cook together for another 2 to 3 minutes. The sauce will thicken slightly thanks to the cornstarch.
  6. Finally, serve your stir-fry immediately. It pairs beautifully with brown and wild rice, which adds a nice texture and complements the flavors of the dish. Enjoy the colors, aromas, and of course, the taste!

When making Easy Shrimp Broccoli Stir Fry, a few tips can help you on your culinary journey. Here are some notes that I’ve found helpful over the years:
  • Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat thoroughly before serving.
  • Freezing: This dish can be frozen, but it’s best to freeze the sauce separately. Combine before reheating.
  • Pairing: Serve with brown rice, quinoa, or a side salad to make a complete meal.
  • Dishing Up: This stir-fry makes for a perfect meal prep option. Portion into containers for easy lunches throughout the week.
  • Experimenting: Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas for variety.
