Ingredients

  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Maple sugar or coconut sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Grated ginger
  • 1 cup Fresh cranberries
  • 3/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Golden raisins
  • 1 teaspoon Orange zest or more as desired, for garnish

Equipment

  • Large Pot
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Grater
  • Mixing Bowl

Method

  1. In a small pot, combine maple sugar and water. Bring to a boil over high heat. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  2. Once the syrup is ready, add in the fresh cranberries, grated ginger, cinnamon, and golden raisins. Mix well, ensuring all the berries are coated in that sweet syrup.
  3. Let the mixture boil for about twenty minutes. Keep an eye on it, stirring occasionally to prevent any burning on the bottom.
  4. When most of the liquid has evaporated, remove the pot from heat and allow it to cool down for a few minutes.
  5. Once slightly cooled, top the relish with orange zest. This adds a zesty brightness that makes your Easy Cranberry Relish even more inviting.
