Ingredients

  • 8 ounces crescent roll sheet
  • 10 ounces pimento cheese spread
  • 16 sprigs Fresh parsley You'll need 2-3 small sprigs of parsley for the top of each carrot to make a full carrot top.

Equipment

  • Aluminum foil
  • Spray cooking oil
  • Baking Sheet
  • Sharp knife
  • Spoon

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. This is crucial for achieving that golden-brown exterior that we all love on baked goods.
  2. Next, spray a baking pan lightly with spray cooking oil. This step will ensure that your rolls don’t stick, allowing for easy removal once they’re perfectly baked.
  3. Take your aluminum foil and cut it into strips measuring about 12 inches by 4 inches. Then, form each strip into a cone shape. This will serve as our mold for the crescent dough and help create that carrot shape.
  4. Roll out the crescent dough onto a cutting board or flat surface. If you’re using pre-cut rolls, make sure to press the seams together to create one cohesive sheet of dough.
  5. With a sharp knife, cut the dough into 8 long strips, each about 1 inch wide. The long strips will wrap around our foil cones, giving shape to our carrot rolls.
  6. Now, take each strip and wrap it around the foil starting at the bottom. Be sure to press the dough together to seal the bottom. As you wind the dough around the foil, overlap each twist slightly. This will help create the carrot shape.
  7. Once wrapped, place the crescent rolls with the foil inside on your baking sheet. Make sure they are spaced apart to allow for even baking.
  8. Bake the crescent rolls in your preheated oven for 7 to 10 minutes, or until they reach a lovely golden brown color. Keep an eye on them to avoid over-baking!
  9. After baking, remove the crescent rolls from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack. This cooling process is essential to set their shape.
  10. Once they are completely cooled, gently pull out the aluminum foil from the insides. This should be done carefully to maintain the shape of your rolls.
  11. Now comes the fun part! Fill each carrot with your pimento cheese mixture. For easier filling, you can use a piping bag. Add 2 to 3 inch sprigs of fresh parsley on top to complete the look of your carrot. Serve and enjoy your adorable creation!

Notes

  • Tip 1: You can fill the carrots with the pimento cheese mixture with a spoon; however, I find it’s a little easier if you use a bag.
  • Tip 2: Fill either a frosting piping bag or a strong freezer zip-top bag. Snip the corner of the bag and then use the bag to fill each carrot.
