  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 pinch salt

Equipment

  • Cast Iron Pan

Method

  1. Cut corn tortillas into thin ¼’’ strips.
  2. Heat pan or skillet to medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and tortilla strips and cook until golden, about 3-4 minutes. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt.
  3. To bake: Toss tortilla strips with olive oil and bake in a 400F oven for about 10 minutes or until golden. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt.

Notes

  • Storage: Properly store leftovers in an airtight container to maintain crunchiness. Avoid storing in plastic bags as they can trap moisture.
  • Freezing: You can freeze the cooked strips for up to a month. Just ensure they're cooled down completely before freezing.
  • Pairing: These strips are great for dipping! Serve them with guacamole, salsa, or your favorite dip to elevate snack time.
  • Don’t Skimp on Oil: Ensure you’re using enough olive oil when frying or baking for the best texture.
  • Thickness Matters: The thinner the strips, the crispier they’ll be. Adjust your cutting technique to achieve the desired crispiness.
