Method
- Begin by gathering all your ingredients on a clean workspace. You’ll need cherry tomatoes, small fresh mozzarella balls, and basil leaves. Set them out on a plate for easy access.
- Take a toothpick and start with one cherry tomato. Push the toothpick through the center until it’s secure. This will be the base of your skewer.
- Next, add a fresh basil leaf to the toothpick. If the leaves are large, you can tear them in half. This adds a lovely herbaceous flavor.
- Now, grab a small mozzarella ball and carefully slide it onto the toothpick after the basil. Make sure it's snug against the tomato.
- Continue this process until you have assembled all your skewers. I usually do 4-5 ingredients per toothpick for a nice balance!
- Once you're done, arrange your skewers on a serving platter. This step not only looks beautiful but also makes it easy for guests to pick one up.
- Before serving, drizzle some balsamic vinegar glaze over the top of the skewers for added flavor. Don’t be shy with it; it really enhances the taste!
- Finally, sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. These simple seasonings will elevate all the fresh flavors.
- Now, step back and admire your colorful platter of Caprese on a Stick. It’s ready to be enjoyed!
Notes
These skewers can be assembled ahead of time and stored in the fridge until serving.
