- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it’s hot enough for the batter to puff up beautifully when it goes in.
- In a blender, combine the eggs, milk, flour, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Blend until smooth; this ensures a well-mixed batter without lumps.
- In a 12-inch oven-safe skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Make sure it coats the bottom of the pan, which will add flavor to the apples.
- Add the thinly sliced apples to the skillet. Cook them for about 5 minutes until they soften slightly. They should become fragrant and start to caramelize.
- Once the apples are softened, pour the prepared batter evenly over the top. You’ll see the butter bubbling around the edges, which is a good sign!
- Carefully transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for around 20 minutes, or until the Apple Dutch Baby is puffed and golden brown. It should look beautiful and rise dramatically.
- After baking, carefully remove the skillet from the oven. Be cautious as the handle will be hot!
- If desired, dust the top with confectioners’ sugar for an elegant finish. This adds a touch of sweetness and makes it look gorgeous.
- Slice the Apple Dutch Baby into wedges and serve warm. It’s best enjoyed fresh out of the oven, and you can top it with whipped cream or fresh fruits for extra indulgence.
